Chicago -Seis De Mayo

My family took a trip up to Chicago for Matt's Cinco de Mayo birthday a day late.
I wish I would have gotten a picture of the ginormous birthday cake J'aime made for Matt. It was incredible; must have had 7 or 8 layers. It was coconut and banana and almond. mmmm...
Matt and J'aime recently moved down to the Pilsen neighborhood, right off of Halsted.
We went to the Maxwell Street Market. It was intense. There was a lot of interesting things and even more junk.

I had a chance to visit with some friends while we were there.

Mike, Belen, and B's new boyfriend Drew.

Mike was house-sitting for Scott at the time, so we got to check out Scott's new condo and his roof.

This is a strange image I took from the roof. I thought it was interesting.

While driving around Chicago, we saw this nudy billboard, and this is the shot I got of it.

It turned out that neither Melissa nor my parents had ever been to Chinatown, Chicago. Matt and J'aime now live very close, so we checked it out and had some dim sum.

I also visited with BJ for awhile. We went down to the Innertown Pub for open mic night and BJ stepped up and sang a few songs.

BJ's prized washboard!

Our final stroll along Lake Michigan before heading home.
